Sally J. Rockey, PhD
Deputy Director for Extramural Research

Dr. Rockey received her PhD in Entomology in 1985 from The Ohio State Unversity. She is active on a number of Federal intergovernmental committees related to science, research, grants management and electronic government, and collaborates closely with the scientific community. She has been honored by receiving the Presidential Rank Award in 2004 which recognizes and celebrates a small group of senior career employees. More than 80% of the annual NIH budget, or approximately $25 billion, is disbursed as extramural funding.
