Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate and Professional Education

Limited Submission Programs

Below is a list of funding programs that specify a limit on the number of applications that can be submitted by an institution. The number of applications that can be submitted varies with program and sponsor. Each campus, Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick, will independently review and select applicants if the limitation is per campus. If the limitation is per university, the review and selection of applicants will be conducted by the Vice President for Research.

Each applicant from the New Brunswick campus must submit a pre–proposal of 5 pages or less to Mary Feldenkreiss of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate and Professional Education (OVPR) by the deadline indicated below. If the number of pre–proposals received by OVPR exceeds the number of applications the sponsor will accept, the OVPR will establish a faculty panel to review and advise the University which of the pre–proposals should be expanded to an application for sponsor consideration. Proposals will be evaluated based on scientific merit and conformance with University policy and sponsor’s guidelines. Applicant(s) will be notified of the university’s selection by deadline below (within 2—3 weeks) of submitting their pre–proposals. OVPR does not guarantee that all programs with limited submissions are listed below. If you find a program that is not listed below, please contact OVPR.

The Newark and Camden campuses coordinate these programs through their respective Research Offices. For further information contact Jacqueline Cornelius in Newark at 973-353-1537 or Camie Morrison in Camden at 856-225-6249.

Please review the guidelines carefully for each program for eligibility requirements and cost sharing obligations. If cost sharing is required, your Dean/Director must approve the cost share plan before submitting the pre-proposal to OVPR.

If you have any questions about these programs, please contact Mary Feldenkreiss at 732-932-0160 x3015.
