High Technology Research Resources Available Through AMDeC F.I.R.S.TTM

Rutgers has recently joined the Academy for Medical Development (AMDeC).  AMDeC has launched a program that provides access for all Rutgers faculty in need to high technology research resources in the region.  AMDeC F.I.R.S.T. is a searchable, web-based registry containing real-time information on University and Medical Center core facilities, services, and instruments available across the AMDeC consortium which can be accessed by all faculty/staff at AMDeC Member institutions. AMDeC F.I.R.S.T. provides a single point-of-entry to information on more than 100 core facilities, 350 core services, and over 400 instruments that can be accessed on a fee-for-service basis to facilitate research on existing NIH or NSF grants, generate pilot data for new grant submissions and create collaborative opportunities around emerging technologies.   In addition to specific information about core facilities, services and instruments, F.I.R.S.T provides a variety of other resources that are critical to employing sophisticated technology solutions for your research program.  On F.I.R.S.T you will find both facilities and services within and outside Rutgers University leading to the most comprehensive technology offering of its kind most important to gaining a competitive edge on a national level.  This registry is valuable research resource as it makes world class facilities available to all members of the Rutgers faculty.

Additionally, AMDeC F.I.R.S.T. hosts information about AMDeC’s Vendor Partnership Program, which includes preferred pricing, unique educational opportunities, pre-commercial access to new technologies, participation in the Technology Access Program, and priority technical support for AMDeC Members on products and services from a range of companies.  Current Vendor Partners include Agilent Technologies, BioStorage Technologies, NuGEN Technologies, and Sigma Life Science with more be added on a regular schedule.

In order to register to use AMDeC F.I.R.S.T. free of any charges, Register at http://www.amdec.org/wiki/index.php/Special:RequestAccount to create a username and password.  For a detailed tour of AMDeC F.I.R.S.T and an exclusive look at new features coming on line please feel free to contact William Palumbo at (212) 218-5640 or williamp@amdec.org
